The Office of Emergency Management is one of six operational units within Risk Management Services (RMS) and is co-located with Environmental Health and Safety.
We guide the University in the four critical elements of emergency management:
- reduction,
- readiness,
- response, and
- recovery.
This includes overall responsibility for the University's Integrated Emergency Master Plan and Public Health Response Plan, assisting Faculties and units with developing their own response plans, oversight (with University of Alberta Protective Services) of the University's emergency notification system, and partnering with government agencies and other post-secondary institutions on emergency management.
